Halloween is now behind us, but it made me think about the fun of dressing up and enjoying seeing so many different styles and variations of costumes.
Dressing up reminds me of my day-to-day work at Esther’s Closet, a self-sufficiency program to assist women in Waco. I enjoy seeing the women who come in and use their style to create beautiful work outfits. For many ladies, the clothing may feel like it is a costume since it is not something they are accustomed to.
Blazers, pantsuits, skirts, and dresses are all items that we have seen change over the years in the professional world. Therefore, at Esther’s Closet, we give ladies the opportunity to choose what they are most comfortable in.
We have so many wonderful ladies come in from various occupations that require different attire. While some dress casually, others wear business professional or even scrubs.
Esther’s Closet remains an important part of our community because there are so many women who are unable to immediately purchase new clothing for their employment positions. If you are interested in being involved with Esther’s Closet (volunteering, donating clothing, monetary donations) please do not hesitate to contact me at heaven@centexchamber.com.
