Prosper Waco and Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce have partnered to create a new joint staff position — workforce initiatives coordinator. Heaven Lee has been employed to assume this role, splitting time between the two offices.
With CTAAC, Lee will work with the Esther’s Closet program, which is a workforce development and self-sufficiency program to assist unemployed persons. It provides professional training and workwear for participants at no cost.
With Prosper Waco, Lee is part of the UpSkill Waco initiative led to build the capacity of workforce development programming in high-demand career pathways by aligning local workforce systems.
Lee is responsible for management and growth of the Esther’s Closet program, in addition to coordinating Esther’s Closet and UpSkill Waco training logistics, outreach, and data collection/reporting. The position will also build and maintain strong relationships between CTAACC and UpSkill.
A native of Waco, Lee holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches and an associate’s degree from McLennan Community College in Waco. She is a graduate of Connally High School.
