Ex-offenders in Waco often face blanket bans on hiring, which can lead to increased poverty in our community. Leaders of Fair Chance Waco, an advocacy group formed by Mission Waco Legal Services, are hosting a rally on Saturday, March 19, to urge employers to give former inmates a chance to make an honest living.

The City of Waco has been a leader in the movement to give ex-offenders a fair chance. The city lowered its barriers to ex-offender employment in an effort to reduce poverty in the community.
