Building community consensus to fight poverty: Q&A with Prosper Waco leadership

On Sept. 19, Prosper Waco will host its second community-wide event. The community first came together in February of 2015 to identify what issues the initiative should focus on. From the feedback the community identified during the Inaugural Event, the initiative focuses on school readiness, college & career success, access to care, obesity, women’s health, mental health, employment, income and wealth/asset building.

In the Q&A article, Prosper Waco board chair Malcolm Duncan Jr., executive director Matthew Polk and director of communication Christina Helmick discussed ongoing efforts within the initiative that community partners have implemented since the Inaugural Event. Prosper Waco leadership also highlights what Summit participants will expect to learn, hear and discuss during the 2016 Summit.
